The teaching is composed of two modules: "Applied Geology and Hydrogeology" and "Environmental Law".
Applied Geology analyses the environmental effects of the implementation of engineering projects and the geological phenomena that influence the evolution of the environment and the territory. Hydrogeology studies the geological problems related to underground waters in order to ascertain their presence, quantity and quality for exploitation.
In addition to providing the basic tools in the above subjects, the teaching also provides an overview on environmental legislation.
Please refer to the teaching sheets of the two modules for more details.
The teaching aims to provide knowledge on the basic aspects of Applied Geology, Hydrogeology and Environmental Law that are of greatest interest to the applied geologist.
Basic knowledge of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, as well as some specific geological disciplines (Stratigraphic and Structural Geology, Mineralogy, Geomorphology and Geological Survey).
Students who have valid certification of physical or learning disabilities on file with the University and who wish to discuss possible accommodations or other circumstances regarding lectures, coursework and exams, should speak both with the instructor and with Professor Sara Ferrando (sara.ferrando@unige.it), the Department’s disability liaison.
Ricevimento: Personal or on-line meetings, to be decided per e-mail or Teams according to the needs of each student
Ricevimento: To be agreed with the teacher (e-mail).
Ricevimento: Students may contact the professor by e-mail (giacomo.pepe@unige.it). .
