The aim is to reach the capacity of analysis, evaluation and critic judgment of artistic, theatrical and visual arts texts, as well as their spatial, kinetic, visual, performative, chromatic, eidetic, graphic and material components. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES a. The first aim of the course (6 credits) is to provide historical and theoretical keys to reading the languages, theoretical principles, and expressive systems of theatrical performance and visual arts, with particular attention to theatrical anthropology. The aim is to achieve the ability to analyze, evaluate and critically judge artistic, theatrical and visual arts texts, as well as their spatial, kinetic, visual, performative, chromatic, eidetic, graphic and material components. b. The second aim of the course (6 credits) is to develop autonomy of judgment, independence of thought and personal critical vision in the adoption of theoretical principles, operational tools and criteria for the interpretation of significant phenomena (facts, objects, processes) of contemporary artistic and educational reality (such as theatrical anthropology, Nature-theater, kindergartens in the woods, education in nature) and of a hermeneutic nature (such as the distinction between the process of interpretation and the process of deciphering, and the question on the nature of "writing"), also knowing how to adopt an adequate historical-cultural perspective that culturally contextualizes the phenomena examined and the tools used by the analyst, avoiding commonplaces widespread in current mass culture and learning to organize a clear, coherent and structured discourse free of jargon. At the end of the course the student will be able to: - examine the concepts developed in various artistic and theatrical theories and schools on artistic and theatrical representation, stage presence, the actor's body, the the work of the director, the identity and nature of the theatrical performance - analyze and distinguish the fundamental thematic nuclei of the contemporary social, artistic and cultural phenomena examined in the course - analyze and distinguish the technical and operational procedures of the processes of "interpretation" and "signification" - evaluate the different theories on writing and compare their adherence to different forms of writing - examine and evaluate different forms of artistic and expressive performance - examine the relationship between performance, physical context, scenic situation - trace the issues and specific cases examined back to general and broader themes - develop conceptual connections between specific cases and general themes - thematically connect different texts - critically identify current commonplaces and possibly detach oneself from them - create and formulate original theses starting from the cases, themes, problems examined - summarize and expose, with a clear, organized and jargon-free discourse, the evolutionary stages of contemporary theatrical theory and its underlying principles - critically compare different assumptions, theses and theories in the texts in the program on the notions of "education", "instruction", "growth", "experience" - explain the reasons for the re-emergence of theories and practices of active education in nature - explain the reasons and motivations of supporters of education in nature and "diffused" education - explain one's choice of text in the groups of texts to be chosen - describe and discuss in great detail the contents of the texts brought to the exam, in particular the compulsory ones not to be chosen - independent reasoning ability - ability to identify the thematic nuclei of a text - ability to compare different theses and theories on the same basic questions in different texts - ability to explain one's choice of text in the groups of texts to be chosen - ability to describe and discuss in great detail the contents of the texts brought to the exam, in particular the compulsory ones not to be chosen - ability to understand and explain the choice for the course of the texts present in the program - ability to orient oneself critically among the theoretical assumptions of the texts in the program - ability to identify a relationship between the chosen texts and the pros TEACHING METHODS Teaching methods Classroom lesson, with compulsory attendance. The institutional section of the course will examine the main principles of theater semiotics using the special case of Odin Teatret and theater anthropology as a sample case to which to apply the methods and principles of theater semiotics. The monographic section of the course will examine the current cultural effervescence, unknown or little known, which has led to numerous innovative theories and practices in the fields of art, theater, education, instruction, which often combine assumptions and theoretical principles already tested in previous decades, united by the ideal objective of cultural renewal beyond the cultural, educational, artistic commodification that characterized the first two decades of the 21st century. .
