The course aims to provide students with the necessary tools for the practical application of knowledge and methodological skills, as well as the main data analysis techniques relevant to social research. The course will be conducted through a series of lectures, exercises, and group work, with the objective of providing the fundamental skills required to manage and analyze a database.
The course aims to understand the methods and the main techniques of data management and analysis. The aim of the course is to offer students the tools they need to be able to work on different types of data sets in different contexts and sectors.
The course starts by presenting the practical tools of social research methodology and the approaches and tools of data analysis (through the use of SPSS software) based on basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics for social sciences. It aims to provide critical analysis skills and the ability to design strategies and tools for social research and use different data analysis techniques and models. The theoretical and practical knowledge of the main approaches to data analysis is a central element of the course.
Through a workshop-based teaching approach, the course includes learning the content through exercises based on concrete cases of applied empirical research.
