AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course the student must be able to know and apply the concepts and models learned in the care relationship.

Interactive lectures. Literature Review.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

1) Theories and Concepts of the Obstetric Discipline:

  • Learning the main terms used in the Obstetric Discipline;
  • Learning the Structure of the Obstetric Discipline through its epistemological analysis;
  • Application of the Theories and Models to the Obstetric Discipline.

2) Obstetric Care Process:

  • Learning scientific methods in the obstetric discipline: inductive, deductive and predictive method;
  • Application of the Obstetric Care process;
  • Application of the guidelines for collecting anamnesis;
  • Learning and Application of the health status assessment model (sec. Gordon);
  • Learning the definition of Diagnosis in the obstetric discipline;
  • Application of taxonomies to correctly carry out the obstetric Diagnosis process;
  • Learning the process of Planning, Management and Evaluation of obstetric care;
  • Learning the Midwife's Core Competences.

3) The Paradigm of Health in the Obstetric Discipline:

  • Learning the different meanings of health from a historical perspective;
  • ​Learning the meaning of salutogenesis applied to the obstetric discipline;
  • Application of the educational role of the Midwife in promoting health.
