OVERVIEW

Spanish Language II - 61298 consists of Spanish language lessons, with practice of the four language skills (called Lettorato), taught in Semester 1 and 2  and a Modulo Teorico (Hispanic Linguistics Module), taught in Semester 1 by Prof. Laura Sanfelici. 

 

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The discipline aims to deepen the knowledge of morphological and syntactic categories, addressing in particular the acquisition of communicative skills and the theoretical and technical knowledge intended for the learning of the various sectorial languages.

Bring students to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. 

  • Interact with native speakers with a sufficient degree of fluency and spontaneity to enable easy and natural communication between interlocutors.
  • Produce clear and detailed texts about diverse topics, as well as defend an opinion about general topics, expressing the pros and cons for each argument.
  • Understand the gist of complex texts about both concrete and abstract topics, including technical texts, provided they are within the candidate’s area of expertise.     
  • Consolidate communicative skills in Spanish with emphasis on hypothetic structures, use of connectives, verb tenses correlation.

B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

TEACHING METHODS

The linguistics module is made up of weekly lectures (3 hours a week over 10 weeks in the first semester). - 

The practical module is made up of weekly classes (5 hours a week over 20 weeks, i.e. 10 weeks per semester). 

Students will be divided into three groups:

A-D: Victoria Filipetto

E-N: Victoria Filipetto

O-Z: to be appointed

 

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Linguistic Module:

Syntax: object of study and trends.
Types of syntagmas: nominal, adjectival, adverbial, verbal and prepositional. Structure, function and semantics.
Syntactic functions of syntagmas within the phrase.
Syntactic analysis: the simple phrase. Subject and Predicate. Position of the elements. Concordance subject-predicate, classes of words.
Syntactic analysis: the complex phrase. Coordinates and subordinates (substantive, adjectival, adverbial).

The practical language module aims to bring students to the B2  level through production and comprehension exercises (written and oral)

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The linguistics module is assessed through a written paper. There are two sittings in each of the three exam sessions. Students can choose only one sitting per session and can't repeat a failed exam in the same session.

The practical module is assessed through a written paper and an oral exam.

The linguistics module is assessed through a written exam paper

The practical part is assessed through a written exam paper (grammar, vocabulary and writing) and an oral exam.
