OVERVIEW

The course aims to provide an overview of new technologies to support production processes, illustrate the architecture of factory information systems and integrations between systems. To encourage the digital transition of small and medium-sized enterprises and investments in innovative technologies, the Government provides companies with various incentive tools. A specific focus of the course concerns the incentive measures and financial tools in force to invest in 4.0 and 5.0 technologies.
Finally, part of the course is dedicated to simulation and various modeling techniques to support the design and optimization of industrial plants and the analysis of investments.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The student acquires the general criteria and methodologies for the feasibility study, design and construction of industrial plants.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Attendance and active participation in the proposed training activities and individual study will allow the student at the end of the course to:

  • Know the specific set of new IT tools to support production processes, distinguishing functionalities and application contexts
  • Know and manage problems in the implementation of information systems to support production processes.
  • Understand the application of the tools to real use cases for different industries.
  • Learn about the main government incentives and tax breaks for companies that want to invest in new technologies
  • Know and understand the simulation techniques of industrial plants and complex production systems
  • Build and statistically validate DES simulation models in stochastic regime
  • Know the main optimization techniques applied to stochastic simulation

PREREQUISITES

There are no specific requirements

TEACHING METHODS

The topics will be developed approximately on 12 weeks of frontal lessons divided into two days of lessons per week. The lessons will be held in Italian language with the support of power point presentations.

Students with valid certifications for Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs), for disabilities or other educational needs are invited to contact the teacher and the School/Department disability representative at the beginning of lessons to agree on any teaching methods that, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods.
