AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The educational objectives of the professionalizing laboratory are the introduction and presentation of the laboratory disciplines that the students will have to acquire in the year of enrollment before the start of the curricular internship at the affiliated institutions, divided among the various teachers specialized in the individual disciplines and after classroom lessons related to specific disciplines. The Propaedeutic Laboratory of the first year of the Biomedical Laboratory Techniques course aims to impart to students some basic notions as well as carrying out some tests independently. Attendance at the preparatory laboratory is compulsory and takes place before the start of the first year internship. The foreseen hours are 25 for a total of 1 ECTS TEACHING METHODS Laboratory practice SYLLABUS/CONTENT Clinical chemistry techniques - hematocoagulation: test tubes and anticoagulants; automatic and manual pipettes, use of manual aspiration devices; Peripheral blood smear; Coloring by M. Giemsa; Use of the microscope and identification of the figurative elements of the blood; Serological plate test ( Treponema Pallidum ) with antibody titration; The liquor, use Thoma or Nageotte chamber. description and dilution; urinalysis, dilutions, calibration curves; biological materials and collection; treatment, conservation and centrifugation; identification of biological samples; parameter dosage techniques in clinical chemistry with spectrophotometric, nephelometric, potentiometric and enzymatic methods. Control charts for the quality of the analytical process.
