CODE 106482 ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 CREDITS 1 cfu anno 2 SCIENZE DELLE PROFESSIONI SANITARIE TECNICHE DIAGNOSTICHE 11266 (LM/SNT3) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR BIO/14 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: MEDICAL AND SURGICAL BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The specific topics of pharmacology teaching are aimed at training professionals capable of studying strategies aimed at improving the therapeutic benefit of known drugs or optimizing the use of new types of drugs AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course of pharmacology for Master Degree in Science of Diagnostic, Tecnic and Health Professions is aimed to prepare professionals able to control the feasibility of innovative pharmacological strategies directed to improve the beneficial activity of already known drugs or to produce a patient-oriented therapy with innovative drugs. To achieve this result, the course will address topics of pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics focusing on Italian structures that control the conduction and the development pharmaceutical therapyes, their safety, eticity and economic feasibility. TEACHING METHODS The teaching will be performed as front lessons. Any student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, shall reach out to the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to arrange the specific teaching methods and ensure proper achievement of the learning aims and outcomes. SYLLABUS/CONTENT Teaching of pharmacology is composed of a first part that addresses the most relevant methods of pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics followed by a second part concerning management strategies to control pharmaceutical policy in Italy and control the development on innovative therapies. Specific topics: 1) Methods of pharmacoepidemiology 2) Methods of pharmacoeconomics 3) Italian network of pharmacovigilance: roles and composition 4) Roles of the Italian Agency of Drugs (AIFA) 5) Innovative drug design and authorization RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY FARMACOLOGIA. LESSONS LESSONS START The course belongs to the seconds semester and will start in the month of march Class schedule The timetable for this course is available here: Portale EasyAcademy EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The exam will be held in form of written quiz composed by 15 questions (valuable with 2 points each). Final value of a mimimum of 18 points will grant the pass of the exam. A brief interview may follow to give students the chance to fix possible mistakes in the written quiz. Students with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs,will be examined according with the rules that has been certified by University of Genova. ASSESSMENT METHODS The questions contained in the quiz are aimed to understand if students have the capacity to manage the most recent and approved strategies of pharmacoeconomics and pharmacoepidemiology, with particular gerards to the activity of Italian Agency for Drugs (AIFA).
