The course aims to provide students with the skills needed to identify risk factors early and implement the most effective prevention strategies needed to reduce and spread communicable and non-communicable diseases. In addition, adequate tools will be provided to recognize risk factors related to chemical, physical, and biological agents.
The course is taught through face-to-face lessons.
Students with DSA certification, disabilities or other special educational needs are strongly encouraged to contact the teachers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods that, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory tools.
Prevention of infectious risk and health surveillance; Sterilization, disinfection and antisepsis; Prevention and management of infectious risk from pathogenic and non-pathogenic agents; The methodology of the epidemiological investigation on infectious risks; The assessment of infectious risks; Notes on the vaccination calendar; Management of information flows relating to reports of communicable diseases; Collection of data of epidemiological interest; Prevention of the main chronic-degenerative diseases, with particular attention to cardiovascular diseases and tumors; The main pathologies from exposure to dust and fibers and professional allergens; Indoor and outdoor pollutants; Risk from exposure to chemical, mutagenic and carcinogenic agents; Collective and individual prevention measures.

The exams for this course will consist of individual oral interviews.
The oral exam will focus on the topics covered during the lectures and will aim to assess whether the student has reached an adequate level of knowledge of the discipline. In case of failure to achieve the minimum objectives of the course, the student will not have passed the exam.
