OVERVIEW

The objective of the module of Rheumatology is to guide students to the knowledge of the main rheumatic diseases in order to design and implement programs of motor and sports activities based on functional assessments and aimed at prevention and improvement of the quality of life of the patient with rheumatic pathology.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The didactic module of Rheumatology provides specialized skills on the main pathologies of rheumatological interest with a particular attention to the components of secondary motor disabilities.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course and after an appropriate period of study, students will be able to:

- to know the clinical symptoms and to have basic elements in order to be able to make a differential diagnosis between the main diseases, characterizing their symptoms and signs.

- understand that where early diagnosis is not carried out and an appropriate integrated and multidisciplinary treatment programme is set up, most rheumatic diseases create a significant socio impacteconomic as they tend to chronicize resulting in functional alterations such as to limit the quality of life of the patient (disability).

TEACHING METHODS

The courses are held with lectures (30 hours).

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.
