OVERVIEW

The International Law 1 CFU seminar is intended to offer a monographic in-depth study of public and private international law topics.

The theme of the seminar changes from year to year, so as to enable highly topical and highly professional topics to be dealt with.

All information on dates and topics will be announced in September by publishing the flyer on the Department's website.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the seminar is to explore current topics in international law, also by adopting innovative teaching methods.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Individual study, attendance and participation in the proposed training activities will enable the student body to: i) acquire advanced competence in international law; ii) understand and analyse the reciprocal coordination of sources; iii) independently identify and critically evaluate the main issues of public and private international law; iv) express themselves in appropriate technical legal language.

PREREQUISITES

No propaedeuticity required. Prior participation in the classes of International Law is recommended. 

TEACHING METHODS

In-depth seminars.

Attendance at all six hours and the presentation of a summary report will result in the acquisition of 1 CFU in the study plan.

DISPI students can enter the seminar code in their study plan (in this case the lecturer can register the CFU independently).

In the event that the seminar is not included in the syllabus, students can submit applications for registration to their course councils (the lecturer can issue a certificate of attendance).

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Submission of a summary report of a maximum of 800 words. The report must cover all the seminar meetings.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam aims to test the ability to identify, understand and apply rules of public and private international law, as well as the use of appropriate legal terminology.
