OVERVIEW

The International Law 2 CFU seminar is intended to offer a monographic in-depth study of public and private international law topics.

The theme of the seminar changes from year to year, so as to enable highly topical and highly professional topics to be dealt with.

All information on dates and topics will be announced in September by publishing the flyer on the Department's website.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Organisation of debates / moot court to implement a case-based learning approach and develop soft skills, such as public speaking and legal writing.

 

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Individual study, as well as active in-person attendance to class and activities will enable students to: i) identify, analyse, understand and apply the sources of public and private international law; ii) understand and analyse the mutual coordination of sources; iii) independently identify and critically evaluate the main issues of public and private international law; iv) express in appropriate technical legal language.

PREREQUISITES

No propaedeuticity required. Prior participation in the classes of International Law is recommended.

TEACHING METHODS

Attendance at all 12 hours will result in the acquisition of 2 CFU in the study plan.

DISPI students can enter the seminar code in their study plan (in this case the lecturer can register the CFU independently).

In the event that the seminar is not included in the syllabus, students can submit applications for registration to their course councils (the lecturer can issue a certificate of attendance).

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Public discussion of the previously drafted court briefs and submission of the briefs to the reference lecturers constitute verification of the substantive and expository skills acquired.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Exams aim to test whether the student is able to identify, understand and apply the rules of public and private international law covered in the programme, as well as to use appropriate legal terminology.
