At the beginning of each academic year, the Department publishes on its website a list of activities related to each seminar so that eachstudent can choose which seminar activities to include in his/her study plan for a total of 3 ECTS. These 3 ECTS can be reached by combining seminars from thesame or different disciplines at the total discretion of the student. In addition, seminars and initiatives providing ECTS may also be chosen as “Student ChoiceActivities”. This seminar Jean Monnet provide 2 ECTS. AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The Jean Monnet Seminar, for the academic year 2024-2025, through a multidisciplinary training program, intends to improve young people's ability to learn new skills. In particular, students will acquire further skills relating to communication in written form (through the creation of group reports) and in mixed form (through the drafting of a final joint statement which can be conveyed in written form or through video footage), giving evidence of critical thinking and effective use of the information acquired during the Seminar. All participants will acquire Open Badges for the disciplinary and transversal skills acquired: basic functional literacy ability: ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, adaptation of one's communication to the context, use of sources and aids of various kinds; basic social skills: ability to manage one's own social interactions, collaborative attitude, constructive communication in different environments; basic ability to learn to learn: awareness of one's preferred learning strategies, organization and evaluation of personal learning according to what is understood and learned; competence in advanced design creation: ability to develop one's imagination and creativity, critical reflection, strategic thinking, problem solving with particular reference to contexts of innovation and evolving creative processes, ability to transform ideas into action, self-awareness. TEACHING METHODS The teaching method of the Seminar will be communicated to students one month before the start of the Seminar itself. The acquisition of Open Badges requires both work at home and effective participation in seminar activities. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The list of Jean Monnet seminars and initiatives on the history and politics of European integration that allow access to credits scheduled for the 2024-2025 academic year is available on the Department website and on Aulaweb. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The reference bibliography will be provided during the Seminar and uploaded to Aulaweb. ASSESSMENT METHODS The assessment is based on knowledge of the subject, expository ability and critical-interpretative ability. Furthermore, for the purpose of acquiring the Open Badges, clarity of presentation, ability to effectively summarize, organization of the presentation and ability to use the notions learned during the seminar activity will be assessed.
