At the beginning of each academic year, the Department publishes on its website a list of activities related to each seminar so that each student can choose which seminar activities to include in his/her study plan for a total of 3 ECTS. These 3 ECTS can be reached by combining seminars from the same or different disciplines at the total discretion of the student. In addition, seminars and initiatives providing ECTS may also be chosen as “Student Choice Activities”. This laboratory/simulation provide 1 ECTS. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES THe Jean Monnet seminars and initiatives of Jean Monnet History and Politics of European Integration aim to provide the student with specialist knowledge on current European issues, sufficient for the presentation of individual papers. The list of seminars and initiatives allowing access to CFU scheduled for this academic year is available on the Department's website. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The simulation aims to provide additional disciplinary and transversal skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking and analysis, time management, active learning and collaborative competition. Partnerships for the Goals PREREQUISITES No prerequisites are needed. TEACHING METHODS Individual study, group study, role palying. SYLLABUS/CONTENT During the diplomatic simulation, students are invited to cover the position of a delegate of a member country of the international organization identified by the lecturer. The work required will take place in three phases. In the first phase, having identified the diplomatic seat (conference of the Big Three, European Council, European Parliament or other organization), an agenda, which contains the topics for discussion, is proposed. In the same phase the students are divided by countries, on which it will be necessary to understand their history and international position. In a second phase, each delegation will prepare one or more resolutions relating to one or more points on the agenda. Finally, the resolutions will be presented in the Assembly and the delegations will work diplomatically to get their resolutions approved, subject to modifications dictated by the negotiations. The acquisition of Open Badges requires both work at home and regular and active participation in class. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The reference bibliography will be uploaded on Aulaweb.
