OVERVIEW

In the course "Sciences and techniques of swimming sports" theoretical contents are covered in the classroom reinforced with practical lessons carried out in the pool.

The general characteristics of swimming sports are dealt with with reference to the specific techniques and training concerning the various disciplines divided into cyclical, situational and technical compositions.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The educational objective of the course is to provide the student with the theoretical, technical and methodological knowledge of competitive activities in an aquatic environment.

Through teaching, the various knowledge useful for implementing motor actions and building motor skills in the terrestrial and aquatic environment are acquired.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Know and analyze the characteristics of multiple motor actions and motor skills in the aquatic field.

Know and be able to apply correct teaching and training methodologies in reference to aquatic sports.

Know and apply basic methodologies in Training, Construction and Performance training in the competitive disciplines of Swimming (with particular reference to Open Water Swimming) and Water Polo.

Analysis of the organizational modalities and the program of international (Olympic) competitions and tournaments.

TEACHING METHODS

The course includes lectures held in the classroom and practical lessons carried out directly on the poolside of the pool. During the practical lessons, theoretical notions will be taken up and methodologically applied in water.

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Performance training methodology in swimming and water polo. Olympic swimming in pools and open waters. Water polo. Swimming, open water swimming and water polo regulations. Participation in the planning, organization and control of open water and water polo training sessions, directly in the pool. Participation in national and international water polo matches.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam is written with one open-ended question and 29 closed-ended questions.

Since this course is part of the integrated course 80894, the exam is carried out together with the other two teaching modules (80896 and 80897).

Considering that the exam has been passed with eighteen thirtieths (18/30), the final grade will be the weighted integration of the three marks.
