OVERVIEW

The integrated teaching consists of the following modules:

  • GENERAL AND INORGANIC CHEMISTRY
  • ORGANIC CHEMISTRY

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Learn the fundamental concepts of inorganic chemistry (structure of matter, systematics and nomenclature of basic compounds, mass of compounds and chemical transformations, characteristics of the gaseous state, acids and bases, solutions and concentrations, electrochemistry). Learn the basic foundations of organic chemistry, with particular attention to the structure, nomenclature, synthesis and reactivity of some of the main classes of organic compounds (alkanes, alkenes, aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds, alcohols and phenols, ethers, carbonyl derivatives, carboxylic derivatives, amines). Know the main classes of primary metabolites (amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids).
