The aim of these lessons is: to present the definition of veterinary medicinal product and the regulatory framework related to these products; to describe some drug formulations specifically developed for veterinary use, focusing on the technological aspects.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to describe the regulatory key points ruling veterinary medicinal products and the formulation needs related to the development of veterinary drug formulations; moreover, the student will be able to justify the preference towards a specific formulation, depending on the type of animal for which the formulation is conceived, and to explain the selection of specific excipients in the different formulations.
The course includes 8 hours of frontal lesson, with the support of the didactic material provided to the students through Aulaweb. Lessons attendance is highly recommended.

The exam involves passing a written test composed of multiple-choice questions and one open question.
The exam evaluates the knowledge of the definition of veterinary medicinal product and of the related regulatory aspects, and the knowledge of the technological solutions adopted in the formulation of medicinal products specifically developed for veterinary use. Moreover, the knowledge about the excipients (and their relative use) described during the lessons will be evaluated.
