OVERVIEW

Deontology is a part of Ethics applied to professional settings. Every profession has a series of concerns on how to perform in a professional and responsible fashion The laboratory has the purpose to explore the ethical principles that the psychologist has to follow in the different contexts in which he/she operates (clinical environment , legal environment, research, teaching , etc.) also throught practical exercises.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

a) activity carried out individually or in small groups, with the goal of learning methods, tools and procedures relevant to a practical psychological context b) practical work, workshops, simulation, role play, project writing, carried out individually or in groups involving tools, methods, and procedures geared to the development of knowledge necessary to operate in the contexts in which psychologists intervene.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aims of the TPV are to help the students:

-          Develop competence in the area of professional ethics.

-          Become familiar with the psychological profession.

-          Learn the importance of respecting the principles stated in the Ethics Code for Psychologists.

-          Develop a critical analysis on ethical issues and a careful consideration on professional conduct.

-          To acquire knowledge  on the normative sources at the base of the psychologist profession

The TPV will provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical examples of professional ethics.

PREREQUISITES

Language skills (Italian and English), ability to make connections.

TEACHING METHODS

Lectures, practical exercises, role-playing.

Recommended supplementary activities: self-assessment tests, bibliographical references, and manuscripts.
