AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

This module introduces students to the challenges and specificities of the detailed design of restoration and conservative renovation projects for existing buildings. It addresses the complexity of the project, understood as the result of technical and construction choices and the ability to plan the work over time, with reference to the project's intended recipient (the contractor) and its purpose (managing the project's constructability). It covers the preparation of all the documents, both graphic and documentary, that constitute the tender project, identifying the degree of interdependence and the dense network of logical connections and continuous cross-references between them.

Part of the module will be dedicated to a practical demonstration of the restoration project approach, with an illustration of a completed project focusing on feasibility, techniques, and choices that influence the detailed restoration project.

TEACHING METHODS

The course is divided into theoretical lessons and thematic seminars.
