The discussion is based on a paper, presented in either paper or multimedia form (as long as it's accompanied by a written text), and it gives you 6 ECTS credits.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The graduation exam involves the presentation and public discussion of the final thesis in front of a designated Committee.

The Committees, made up of professors, researchers, or adjunct lecturers, consist of at least 5 members including the President and are appointed by the Director of the Department to which the Degree Program belongs. The majority of members must be full professors and researchers. The President ensures that the exam is conducted properly, especially regarding: the use of aid tools; making sure there’s enough time for the presentation and discussion of the thesis and for a collective evaluation; and appropriate behavior by everyone present.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The final grade summarizes the student's entire academic career, taking into account the achievement of the learning objectives of the degree program.

The final grade is made up of three elements:

- GPA;
- assessment of the student's academic record;
- evaluation of the final exam.

The graduation committee can award up to 7 extra points on top of the GPA, with up to 4 for the thesis and up to 3 for foreign language proficiency.

If the score reaches (or exceeds) 110/110, based on the recommendation of the supervising professor, the committee can unanimously award honors, provided they have assessed the thesis very positively.

FURTHER INFORMATION

The discussion schedule is posted in the “Graduating Students” section of the CdS website.
