OVERVIEW

The course in Psychological Sciences aims to provide students with foundational knowledge of psychology as the scientific study of the human mind and behavior, with particular emphasis on the experimental method as applied to psychological research and on the main areas of inquiry within general and clinical psychology. The General Psychology module offers an overview of key mental functions and their practical applications in everyday life and professional contexts. The Psychometrics and Test Theory module introduces the conceptual foundations of psychometric theory and the basic statistical techniques commonly used in psychological research and assessment. The Clinical Psychology module focuses on one of the major theoretical and applied branches of psychology. It covers the scientific study and practical applications of psychology related to the understanding, prevention, and treatment of psychological and interpersonal difficulties at the individual, family, and group levels.

Assessment will be graded on a scale of 30 points. The minimum passing grade is 18/30, while the highest possible grade is 30/30. In the event of a failed examination, withdrawal from the examination, or refusal of the awarded grade, students may retake the examination at the next available exam session.

Students are expected to demonstrate that they have acquired the course content and achieved an adequate level of mastery. They should be able to integrate and compare different constructs and clinical perspectives, as well as communicate the knowledge acquired during the course using appropriate technical and discipline-specific terminology.
