AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The assessment of the level B1 of the English Language is carried out through computer-based tests during the first months of the first academic year, according to the information shared by CLAT (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo). In case of a positive outcome, the corresponding credits will be recorded starting from the winter exam session (February of each year). If the outcome is 'Fail', students can take an online course before repeating the test. This course aims at strengthening the basic knowledge of students, in order to allow them to acquire the level B1 in the four abilities (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking), in accordance with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims at supporting students in consolidating their knowledge of the English syntaxt and vocabulary, in addition to their ability to read and understand written texts. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES - To consolidate studsents' knowledge of English syntax - To expand students' vocabulary - To help students improve their ability to read and comprehend written texts at the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages PREREQUISITES Knowledge of the English Language at level A2. TEACHING METHODS In case students do not pass the Assessment Test (AT) at the beginning of the academic year, the University Language Centre (CLAT) will organise an online B1 English course, after which students will be allowed to resit the exam. An in-person course will be offered, if students do not pass the AT a second time, and a third round of ATs will be organised. SYLLABUS/CONTENT All the topics are covered in the online course mentioned above and are those typically included in standaridized B1 test for the English Language according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
