OVERVIEW

The course is based on laboratory activity focused on the design and realization of a mechatronic device. Activities are practical and present mechanical, measurement and control topics and will include programming  intelligent measurement and control system and designing and realization of mechanical components by 3d printing.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Operational understanding of the integration of mechanics, measurement and automatic control, with particular reference to the design, development and integration phases between hardware and software components. The objectives will be pursued through experimental activities aimed at the realization and testing of a mechatronic device equipped with self-produced mechanical parts by 3D printing and an advanced measurement and control system programmed by the students themselves.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The examination consists of:

- a project report carried out in small groups and written in English
- demonstration of the functionality of the prototype made
- discussion of the project as a whole with the examination board

ASSESSMENT METHODS

In addition to the functionality of the prototype and understanding of the methods used, the quality of the project report, exposition, technical vocabulary, and critical reasoning skills will be evaluated.
