Information updated until 30/06/2026 CODE 66940 ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 3 SCIENZE DELL'EDUCAZIONE E DELLA FORMAZIONE 10841 (L-19) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR M-FIL/03 LANGUAGE Italian TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester OVERVIEW The course aims to offer an overview of the main issues in theoretical and applied ethics, presenting the most authoritative classical and contemporary theories and showing interdisciplinary openings in dialogue with the various sciences and other fields of knowledge AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Acquisition of skills relating to the study of human action in its ethical dimension Acquisition of the main concepts used in moral philosophy so as to enable the student to form the basic cognitive tools to address, with greater awareness, the ethical discussions of our time Knowledge of the fundamental stages in the history of moral doctrines with particular reference to applied ethics. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The specific objectives of the course are: to provide the fundamental elements of philosophical ethics terminology, its themes and problems, its main currents, and to enable the student to read the classics of moral thought and to engage in contemporary debate. The main expected learning outcomes are: knowledge of the main currents and historical development of the discipline; acquisition and mastery of concepts and methods specific to moral philosophy; ability to approach and understand some fundamental classical texts and their specific technical language. PREREQUISITES No prerequisite. TEACHING METHODS Lessons will be held in a frontal mode alternated with seminar-style discussions on the individual topics covered. The assessment is carried out using a qualitative-quantitative evaluation form published on AulaWeb.
