OVERVIEW

The Laboratory offers a professionally-trained program of study, analysis, diagnosis, and design for a building or architectural complex in Genoa or Liguria. Through lectures, seminars, contributions from external experts, and classroom work in collaboration with the faculty, the Laboratory will develop an experience comparable to a real professional practice. Guided activities will generally be conducted in groups and will be based on all the cultural, technical, and scientific references specific to the disciplines of conservation, restoration, technology, and structures, including for the compatible reuse of historic buildings, both ancient and recent, of cultural significance. To this end, the knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired in the courses of Fundamentals of Architecture (third year of the Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Sciences - L17) and Restoration Laboratory (first year of the Master's Degree in Architecture - LM4) are essential.
