The course in brief
Presentation
The vocationally oriented degree course belongs to a new class (L-P01) specially designed to train qualified multi-purpose technicians in civil and rural construction and infrastructure.
Preparation in the basic and characterizing disciplines of geomatics, construction, shipbuilding, surveying and law is complemented by the acquisition, through laboratory and internship activities, with applied skills. Degree, European level 6 (European Qualification Network), is qualifying for the profession of Graduate Geometrician and Graduate Building Surveyor.
Learning by doing
Frontal didactic activities alternate between the first and second years with laboratory activities covering a large number of training credits (48 cfu), with which the student applies what is covered in the courses; these activities are preparatory to the profession of "Building and Land Use Technician".
In the third year, the student devotes himself entirely to professionalizing internship activities for a total of 1,200 hours to be carried out in companies, professional firms and/or public or private administrations, the experience of which will be put to use in the preparation of the final qualifying test.
Professional outlets
The degree course qualifies for registration in the professional order of Graduate Land Surveyors and Graduate Building Surveyors (Law 163/2021).
The graduate will be able to find employment in the freelance profession (both individual and in professional firms), in companies or territorial administrations, working in the areas of construction, infrastructure and plant engineering framed in the territory.

The Bachelor's Degree in Building and Land Use Technology trains an expert professional figure in the construction, infrastructure and land use sectors, a figure therefore polyvalent transversal to different professions, who will benefit from an immediate entry into the world of work after an applied and enabling training.
The specific educational objectives of the Degree Course concern:
- preparation in the basic disciplines (mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science) useful to know and understand the most common physical and chemical phenomena in the field of construction and infrastructure works framed in the territory;
- preparation in the more applied disciplines such as geomatic surveying and monitoring, estimating and regulation, and site management, in order to master and integrate across the board methods, techniques and instrumentation typical of the different disciplines under study;
- the achievement of the necessary skills to carry out support activities in the different phases of the implementation and management of construction, infrastructure and plant works framed in the territory;
- the acquisition of autonomy of judgment and communication skills to interact with public or private clients as well as with professionals involved in the different design and executive phases of the construction site.
Classroom lectures are strongly oriented to the application aspects of the profession.
During the first year, "bimonths" dedicated to lectures are alternated with "bimonths" dedicated to the conduct of examinations and laboratory activities; "classical" technical laboratories, carried out in the university setting or in collaboration with Technical Institutes, are flanked by specialized courses, seminars and various activities carried out in collaboration with the Colleges of Surveyors of the Ligurian provinces and with different training and work realities in the area. During the second year, face-to-face classes are concluded and laboratory activities, preparatory to the profession, are intensified.
The third year of the course is entirely devoted to the performance of internship activities (1200 hours) and the final exam.
The student in the internship activities, with the support of a university tutor and one from the professional world, is required the integrated application of the knowledge of methods, techniques and instrumentation, acquired in the study of disciplines carried out in classrooms and laboratories, with a transversal approach typical of the professional context of reference.
From the internship the student draws inspiration and material to prepare a written paper that will be the subject of an oral presentation and related discussion during the final examination. The outcome of the final examination is evaluated by a special examining board, consisting of teaching staff and representatives of professional bodies, for the relevant qualification.
