The course in brief

Presentation

The Bachelor of Science in Sports Policy, Governance and Information aims to train qualified professionals to meet the multifaceted needs of a growing sector, that related to sports, providing students with a multidisciplinary and innovative preparation. 
The objective is the acquisition of management, organizational, programming, relationship and communication skills useful for the start of professional paths in national and multinational private companies and associations, national, supranational and international organizations and public bodies, particularly in the sports sector.

Learning by doing

Frontal teaching is complemented by specific credit seminars on topical issues and professionalizing workshops on sports radio reporting, fundraising, use of social media in sports, journalistic writing, audiovisual and video shooting techniques, film and sports. And scultural exchanges are planned within the framework of international and European programs.

Professional outlets

Junior manager of associations, federations, societies, particularly sports, of local, national, international or supranational interest.

Secretary or director of companies, with special reference to the sports sector.

Communication and public relations consultant in the sports field.

Public agency official for sports policy.

What you will learn

  • Economia

    Comprendere quali sono i programmi finanziari, i modelli economici nell’ambito dello sport e analizzare il modello di business di un’azienda sportiva.

  • Storia

    Conoscere i rapporti tra sport e poteri politici e l’influenza reciproca che si è sviluppata nelle epoche storiche, con focus sul giornalismo sportivo e la narrazione dello sport.

  • Diritto

    Conoscere gli atti normativi che regolano lo sport e i sistemi giuridici europei in materia di sport.

  • Lingua inglese

    Acquisire gli strumenti linguistici per analizzare il rapporto tra mondo e tematiche legate allo sport, e per organizzare efficacemente riunioni e presentazioni in inglese.

  • Comunicazioni web e new media

    Utilizzare le nuove modalità di comunicazione ed elaborare una riflessione critica sul rapporto tra comunicazione e disinformazione.

  • Sociologia

    Apprendere la dimensione sociale dello sport e conoscere i concetti di disabilità e di inclusione sociale.

  • Scienza politica

    Conoscere le politiche per lo Sport a livello nazionale e internazionale e utilizzare gli strumenti della Scienza Politica.

  • Geografia e turismo

    Conoscere i principali strumenti di misurazione dell’impatto territoriale degli eventi sportivi e del movimento turistico.

  • Antropologia

    Utilizzare gli strumenti dell’Antropologia per leggere gli eventi sportivi come fatti sociali totali.

Did you know that.

  • È la prima laurea triennale in Italia dedicata interamente alla gestione e alla comunicazione dello sport.
  • Il percorso di laurea si collega al programma di Ateneo ad hoc “Unige per i campioni”, che favorisce la dual career per quegli studenti sportivi impegnati sia a livello accademico che agonistico.
  • È in corso l’iter per l’inserimento nell’articolo 33 della costituzione della seguente frase: “La Repubblica riconosce il valore educativo, sociale e di promozione del benessere psicofisico dell’attività sportiva in tutte le sue forme”.

Contents

The Course involves the in-depth study of at least two European Union languages, in addition to Italian.

The traditional teaching activities are complemented by additional forms of learning, which enable the student to develop a profitable interaction with the outside world in which he or she will operate. For example:

  • a wide range of lectures, seminars and meetings with teachers and experts in the field of sports.
  • Professionalizing workshops on sports radio reporting, fund raising, use of social media in sports, journalistic writing, audiovisual and video filming techniques, cinema and sports.
  • Cultural exchanges of faculty and students within the framework of international and European programs, such as LLP Erasmus, CINDA, AVERROES.
  • Stage and internships in Italy and abroad.
