What is In order to be admitted to the degree examination, you must have obtained all the credits stipulated in the education system of your degree course. The final examination consists of an experimental thesis lasting no less than six months corresponding to 31 CFU. The results of the activity will be set out in a written dissertation in English (with a summary in Italian) and elaborated in an original way by the student under the guidance of the Supervisor and discussed orally in front of a Commission consisting of lecturers and/or experts in the field.. You can start the thesis once you have acquired 44 CFUs in your study plan and carry it out at: . the research laboratories of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry at UniGe external, national or foreign facilities (universities, public or private laboratories or research bodies, public or private industries) Read the final examination regulations for more information. Seminar activities A pre-degree seminar day will be established, possibly unique for all candidates in the same degree session. Pre-graduation seminars will normally be held one week before the date of graduation. The presentation will be in English. The session is normally public, but if the experimental work is of a confidential nature it may be held behind closed doors, at the request of the lecturer, with a confidentiality agreement signed by the commissioners. Candidates will have: 30 minutes for the presentation of the thesis; 20-30 minutes for the discussion. At least 4 days before the date set for the pre-degree seminar, the candidate must upload the thesis onto the appropriate portal so that it can be read in depth by the Degree Committee. Following the pre-degree seminar, the candidate has 3 days to make any changes to the thesis suggested by the Commission and upload the revised version of the thesis in final mode..

Evaluation The graduation grade will be calculated by summing the following contributions: 1) Weighted average of the credits for the two-year degree course only and including supernumeraries; the average is expressed in hundredths. 2) Evaluation of the Focus Group: the Commission in charge of evaluating the activity will award a score from 0 to 1.5, also in fractional terms, according to the criteria listed above. This score will be added to the unrounded weighted average of the examinations. The resulting sum will be rounded up or down to the nearest unit. according to the usual rules: up to ...,499 by default; from ...,500 by excess.. 3) Evaluation of the student's academic curriculum: 1 point will be added for the candidate who graduates in progress (with the deadline for taking the final exam being 31 March of the following calendar year, unless an exception is established by the University). 4) Evaluation of the Other Activities 2: the student who has participated in the Other Activities 2 will receive a bonus evaluation of up to 0.5 points based on attendance, which must in any case be more than 50% of the activities carried out. 5) Evaluation of the thesis work (including its presentation and discussion): Commission members may collectively award up to 5 points. 6) Bonus points: 1 additional point will be added to candidates who have obtained at least 12 CFUs abroad. 7) Awarding of honours: honours may only be awarded if the student achieves an overall mark of at least 113/110. The decision must be unanimous.. The final test is passed if you obtained a grade of not less than 66 points out of 110. Honor may be awarded by unanimous opinion of the committee if you have achieved a final score greater than or equal to 110/ 110.
