How to access

Following that, if the test is successful, you must confirm your matriculation.

N.B.: Pre-registration and verification of the adequacy of personal preparation are free of charge. Payment of the registration fee and regional fee is due upon confirmation of registration.

How it works

For student holding an Italian or EU Bachelor’s degree with final mark lower than than 90/110 (or the corresponding Cumulative Grade Point Average expressed in percent) the verification test will consist in a public interview, and will be aimed at ascertaining the general preparation of the student with particular reference to the knowledge of engineering fundamentals and applied and professional aspects related to the following topics:

  • Circuit theory;
  • Electromagnetism;
  • Electric machines and drives;
  • Power electronics;
  • Power generation and distribution;
  • Electric and electronic measurements.

The test consists of an exam interview with a Commission appointed by the Degree Programme Coordinator.
The outcome of the test will only be a “pass” or a “fail”.

For candidates from non-EU countries residing abroad and holding a foreign degree, the verification of the individual preparation is carried out in the form of an interview during the UniGeApply pre-enrolment process.

Knowledge of English at level B2 or higher is verified by one of the followings:

  • Possession of a certificate attesting to a knowledge of English language of at least level B2. The list of accepted certificates is established by the University's Language Skills Development Sector and published on the website https://clat.unige.it/en/CertificazioniRiconosciute
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree awarded in English, to be certified by an official document or letter from the university that awarded the degree, showing that the studies were carried out in English.
  • Passing English B2 test provided by the University's Language Skills Development Department.

If none of the above conditions are met, language knowledge must be verified by the Commission appointed by the Degree Programme Coordinator for the assessment of the individual preparation.
Students who, at the time of admission to the Master’s degree course, do not have sufficient knowledge of written and oral Italian must include in their educational path the teaching of Italian which is part of the educational offer of the Degree Programme.
