Assessment of Adequacy of Personal Readiness

What it is

The assessment of the adequacy of personal preparation is meant to ascertain the possession of the necessary basic specialist knowledge for admission to the course.

How it works

To take the personal preparation adequacy test you must pre-register at the link https://servizionline.unige.it/node/4138 and, in the case of a final mark below 9/10, choose the date on which you wish to take the test.

Come funziona

The individual preparation test is conducted in the form of a career examination and public interview and is carried out by a Commission appointed by the Councils of the Mechanical Engineering Courses of Study and composed of lecturers belonging to those Councils.

  •       If you have obtained a degree mark of at least 85/110 and less than 99/110 of the highest mark (in the degree that fulfils the curricular requirements) or you hold a degree obtained abroad with a final grade ranging from "B" to "D" in the ECTS system, you will be subject to a career evaluation by the Commission. The career review will be carried out taking into consideration the grades obtained in the individual examinations and the dates on which they were taken, as well as the time taken to complete the course. Should you fail the career assessment, you will be subjected to an individual examination in the form of a public interview.
  •       If you have obtained a degree mark of less than 85/110 of the highest mark (in the degree that meets the curricular requirements) or you hold a degree awarded abroad with a final grade of "E" in the ECTS system, you will be subject to both a career examination and an individual preparation test in the form of a public interview.

The individual preparation test in the form of a public interview will be aimed at ascertaining your general preparation with particular reference to your knowledge of the fundamentals of mechanical engineering and of applied and professional aspects relating to the following topics

  •      mechanical systems, materials and mechanical technologies
  •      mechanics, technical drawing and machine building
  •      thermal energy systems, machines and heat transmission
  •      measures.

You may take a maximum of 2 tests per academic year.
