Overview

The course in brief

Presentation

The mechanical engineer: his preparation is among the most solid, complete, versatile and appreciated by the world of work. His skills not only cover the design and production of machines, plants, complex systems, consumer goods and services, but also extend to organisational and economic-managerial aspects and the most advanced applications in the fields of robotics, mechatronics, automation and energy.

Learning by doing

The course combines traditional lessons with:

  • laboratory activities
  • development of projects proposed by teachers
  • professional curricular traineeship activities at local companies
  • .

Professional outlets

Almost all Bachelor and Master of Engineering graduates find employment within 12 months of graduation.

In addition to the possibility of entering the world of work directly, graduates have access to numerous master's degrees, including:

  • Mechanical engineering - design and production
  • Mechanical Engineering - Energy and Aeronautics
  • Robotics Engineering

Contents

The degree course in Mechanical Engineering for Automation is geared towards the training of engineers with a solid physical-mathematical background, which enables them to enter wide-ranging working environments, with rapid adaptation times to business realities.

In the first year, priority is given to the mathematical, physicochemical and computer science foundations, but disciplines in the engineering area are already included: computer technology, technical drawing, materials.

.

In the second year, in addition to consolidating basic knowledge, foundational elements are acquired in the areas of: applied machine mechanics, mechanical technology, machine construction, energy machines and systems, technical physics, electrical engineering and electronics.

In the third year content is added in areas more characteristic of Mechanical Engineering for Automation: mechanical systems, hardware and software systems for automation, mechatronics, robotics, control of mechatronic systems, electrical drives, virtual prototyping and 3D design.

The final examination offers the possibility of laboratory work or company internships, during which you will be able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired and develop further operational skills, which complete the preparation.
