Graduating students' fees

If you intend to graduate by 31 March 2027

If you intend to graduate by 31 March 2027 (the final graduation session of the 2025/26 academic year), you are not required to enrol for the 2026/27 academic year (as a student who has exceeded the standard duration of study under the previous degree programme or beyond the standard duration under the new degree programme) or to pay the relevant student fees.

If, after graduating, you intend to continue your studies, please bear in mind that:

  • if you obtain your final degree by 26 February 2027 (or any earlier deadline set by the relevant academic departments), you will be able to enrol on a Master’s degree programme for the 2026/27 academic year by 10 March 2027 (for enrolment deadlines, please consult the deadlines page);
  • If you you obtain your final qualification after 26 February 2027, you will be able to enrol on the Master’s degree programme from the 2027/28 academic year.

If you are unable to graduate by 31 March 2027

If you are unable to graduate by 31 March 2027, you may enrol late for the 2026/27 academic year (over the standard duration of the previous degree programme/beyond the standard duration of the new degree programme) by paying, again by that date:

  • 1st instalment (stamp duty and regional tax)
  • 2nd instalment viewable and payable after payment of the 1st instalment

with applicable late payment charges.

By 23 June 2027 you must pay the 3rd instalment (to settle the university fees), which may be reduced by 50% if by 31 March 2027 you have passed all your course exams and are only required to sit the final or degree examination. (*)

If you are unsure whether you will graduate by 31 March 2027 and wish to avoid paying late payment charges due to a possible late enrolment, you may enrol as a precaution for the2026/27 (beyond the standard duration under the previous degree programme or beyond the standard duration under the new degree programme), paying the student fee by the standard deadlines (1st instalment by 5 October 2026; 2nd instalment by 10 December 2026), bearing in mind the following:

  • In the event of obtaining your final degree by 26 February 2027:
    • if you intend to continue your studies, you may enrol on the Master’s degree programme for the 2026/27 academic year by 10 March 2027 (for enrolment deadlines, please see the page). The first and second instalments of fees already paid will be considered valid for this enrolment. You must pay the third instalment by 23 June 2027;
    • if you do not intend to continue your career, you may request a refund (**) of the contributions paid (see the procedure How to obtain individual refunds).

  • If you obtain your final qualification between 1 and 31 March 2027:
    if you intend to continue your studies, you may enrol on a Master’s degree programme from the 2027/28 academic year onwards.

Please note: Any fees already paid cannot be used for such enrolment. Therefore, you may request a refund (**) of the fees paid in advance (see the procedure  How to obtain individual refunds).

If the final qualification is not obtained by 31 March 2027

In the event of provisional enrolment for the 2026/2027 academic year and failure to final qualification by 31 March 2027 (last graduation session – academic year 2025/26), your enrolment as an over-duration student under the previous degree programme/beyond the standard duration of the new degree programme will already be active.

By 23 June 2027 you must pay the 3rd instalment (to settle the university fees), which may be reduced by 50% if, by 31 March 2027, you have passed all your course examinations and are only required to sit the final or degree examination. (*)

ISEE for University (ISEE-U)

Regarding ISEE for the University (ISEE-U).

From the 2026/27 academic year onwards, all duly enrolled students wishing to have their student fee amounts calculated must adhere to the following new deadlines for submitting the DSU (Single Substitute Declaration) for the purposes of issuing the university ISEE:

  • from 1 January to 31 October 2026 > standard period
  • from 1 November to 30 November 2026 > deferral period, with a late payment charge of €100.00
  • from 1 December 2026 to 15 June 2027 > payment deferral period, with a late payment charge of €200.00

Students duly enrolled for the academic year 2026/27, in order to have the second instalment rescheduled (due on 10 December 2026), will be required to self-certify their ISEE-U data to the University via the dedicated procedure on UNIGE’s online services by 31 October 2026.
The final and non-extendable deadline for self-certifying income details will be 15 June 2027.

If you are interested in having your student fees recalculated, we recommend that you submit the Dichiarazione Sostitutiva Unica (DSU) by the standard deadline of 31 October 2026: in the event of late enrolment for the 2026/27 academic year (due to failure to obtain a degree or to continue your studies), after having paid the first instalment (the online self-certification service is reserved solely for students enrolled in the current academic year), you will be able to self-certify your ISEE-U details online to have the regional tax and the second and third instalments of the student contribution recalculated (any credit from the second instalment will be offset against the third instalment).
