The course in brief

Presentation

The course provides the foundations of a sound legal culture through knowledge of fundamental legal fields and the techniques of reasoning, argumentation and interpretation in the legal field.

Students are provided with the technical and cultural tools that are indispensable for a jurist to operate professionally and competitively not only on a national, but also on a European and international level.

Learning by doing

Theoretical knowledge is applied during the in-depth study and seminar activities organised as part of the individual courses, also with the involvement of qualified external professionals.

Through work placements in private and public facilities, students can test their knowledge and acquire new practical-application skills.

Professional outlets

The master's degree prepares first and foremost for the exercise of the professions of magistrate, lawyer, notary.

Other areas in which graduates can work are:

  • in the private sector: legal and general affairs offices of companies, personnel offices, finance, banking and insurance sectors, commercial sector, maritime and aerospace sectors; legal activities supporting the development of information technology, biomedicine, robotics and renewable energy

Contents

The course comprises the following scientific and didactic areas: civil law, comparative law, commercial law, labour law, constitutional law, administrative law, economics and finance, international and community law, criminal law, procedural law, Roman law, legal history, legal philosophy and social theory.

The main objective is to provide graduates with:

  • strong ability to analyse and interpret legal norms and the ability to set out in written and oral form the relevant lines of reasoning and argumentation
  • deep knowledge of the fundamental areas of the different legal systems and technical and cultural tools of comparison to operate at EU and international level
