Because it is a course that also provides basic knowledge in the disciplines of geography, economics and law, areas useful for carrying out mediation activities. Because a semester abroad in the 3rd year, a highly formative experience, is included in the curriculum, and because you will be able to participate in seminars, internships, workshops and other activities that train for work. Because intra- and interlingual skills foster success not only as language mediators but also in employment in the public sector, in national and international companies, and in entrepreneurial ventures. Because the different courses in the curriculum will enable you to make a more informed choice if you want to continue your studies with a master's degree. What will you study The degree in Theories and Techniques of Interlingual Mediation trains interlingual mediators with broad skills. To achieve the objectives, the standard curriculum includes: characterizing teachings: the two languages of specialization, taught in parallel throughout the three-year period, with a substantial number of hours of language exercises at monitored frequency specific theoretical-practical modules of linguistics applied to the two languages of study and the various problems of interlingual mediation General core courses: Linguistics (in the first year), Literature and Culture of the two languages of specialization (in the first and second years), Italian Linguistics (with practical writing laboratory) and Translation Theory and Technique (in the second year) teaching of related subjects spread over the three years, such as Human Geography, the Institutional System of the European Union and its Functioning, and Models of Analysis of Territorial Economics or Business Management or Economics of the Tourism System. In the fifth semester there is a stay abroad compulsory, fundamental to the training and characteristic of the curriculum of this Course of Study. After graduation The graduate degree in Theories and Techniques of Interlingual Mediation Who is it? He is a language mediator assigned to business negotiations, a mediator in the public sector assigned to deal with foreign nationals or national and international institutions, a collaborator in intercultural exchanges, a collaborator in companies providing language mediation services. What does he/she do? The graduate in Theories and Techniques of Interlinguistic Mediation possesses linguistic, communicative and pragmatic skills in two foreign languages and has intercultural skills that he/she employs in written and oral language mediation (negotiation interpreting). Where does she work? In the service and trade sector, in private companies and public agencies that need language mediation in various fields, in institutions with national and international relations. An important outlet is the continuation of studies in the Master's Degree Program in Translation and Interpreting activated at our University (LM-94).
