What is To be admitted to the final examination, you must have regularly attended the educational activities and earned the credits required by the regulations. The final examination consists of the discussion, before a committee, of a paper on topics and activities carried out by you during the three-year period; it serves to ascertain your technical-scientific and professional preparation as well as to acquire knowledge useful for entering the world of work or for continuing your studies. The effort required for the preparation of the final test must be commensurate with the number of credits assigned to the test itself. The speakers must include at least one faculty member from the Polytechnic School and/or the relevant department For graduation, you must have a English language proficiency corresponding to at least the B1 level of the Council of Europe. To acquire English language credits, you must pass the examination test organized by the Language Skills Development Branch or show original certification obtained from an accredited body or institute no more than three academic years earlier. The list of recognized certificates is established by the Polytechnic School. Thesis topic offerings The topics offered by some of the LSC faculty for the conduct of theses can be downloaded here. Once the topics of potential interest have been identified, students are encouraged to contact the relevant faculty members for more details on the specific theses that can be activated at the time of their choice. Final paper You can write the final paper also in English, while if you want to use a other EU language you have to ask permission from the course council. In these cases you will have to accompany it withtitle and extensive summary in Italian. Evaluation The evaluation of the final paper by the committee is done by adding a score from 0 to 8 points to your weighted average in hundredths, taking as weight the number of credits associated with the individual educational activity. If you have done a period of study abroad, lasting at least one semester and with at least twelve recognized course credits, you will be awarded an additional point to your final grade.
Technical Directions. The length of the report should be between 18 and 22 pages. It should contain a summary, between 10 and 15 lines in length. The body of the thesis should be written in a font size of 10 point, single line spacing, up, down, top and bottom margins of 2.5 cm, and should be divided into paragraphs, titled "Introduction," "Methods and Instruments Used," "Experimentation and Results," "Personal Contribution and Concluding Remarks," and "Bibliographical References."
