Assessment of Adequacy of Personal Readiness

What is

The Assessment of Adequacy of Personal Readiness is the tool provided by the Educational Regulations to assess your preparation for the purpose of matriculation to the Master's Degree.

How it works

How to enter

To take the Verification of Adequacy of Graduate Personal Preparation you must do the pre-registration so as to be on the lists of students who must take the test.

Following this, if the test is successful, you must confirm your matriculation.

For pre-registration and the test you will not have to pay anything. Payment of the registration fee and the regional fee is due upon confirmation of registration.

The registration fee and the regional fee are due upon confirmation of registration.

N.B.: Pre-registration and verification of personal preparation are free of charge. Payment of the registration fee and regional fee is expected upon confirmation of registration.

.

How it works

The interviews will be conducted as follows:

  1. newly enrolled students with a Bachelor's degree in History should email, in pdf format, their degree certificate and proof of pre-registration in Historical Sciences to the address guido.borghi@unige.it, which will, once the documents have been examined, unlock their enrolment, thus enabling them to complete their enrolment;
  2. .
  3. newly enrolled students with a Bachelor's degree not in History but in other disciplines should, instead, send an email to: davide.arecco@unige.it, the pdf of the pre-enrolment in History, as well as their entire previous university career, in order to verify the presence of the 60 CFU required: if they are present, their enrolment will be unblocked and they will be able to complete their enrolment; otherwise, they will be able to start a possible Bridge Career, in order to obtain the missing credits, in view of the subsequent enrolment to the LM in History.
  4. .

The dates for sending the pre-registration document (if coming from History) or - as mentioned above - the pre-registration document, with, in addition, the previous three-year career (in the case of graduates previously not in History) are those below, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please write to the two professors on the days indicated, and at the times indicated (not before and not after), observing, faithfully, the instructions above. For any further information, please refer to the details given in the online Study Manifesto on the unige page of the Degree Course in Historical Sciences.

.

Precisions: in order to be admitted to the first year of the Master's Degree Course in Historical Sciences, one must have obtained at least 60 cfu in the following scientific-disciplinary fields: M-STO/01, M-STO/02, M-STO/03, M-STO/04, M-STO/ 05, M-STO/08, M-STO/09, M-GGR/01, L-FIL-LET/08, L-FIL-LET/10, L-LIN/01, L-OR/01, L-OR/08, L-LIN/10, M-DEA/01, M-FIL/02, M-FIL/03, M-FIL/06, M-FIL/07,M-FIL/08, SECSP/12,SPS/05.
In the event that the admission requirements are not met, the student can still enrol in a bridging career (prepared by Professor Arecco and activated by the Registrar's Office) to reach the total of 60 cfu required, before the LM. In general, the bridging career works as follows:

  1. the student compulsorily pre-registers as soon as possible according to the deadlines
  2. .
  3. Prof. Arecco prepares the bridging career in pdf, sends it by email to the student, who has it activated immediately by the secretary
  4. .
  5. the student contacts the professors of the individual exams included in the bridging career for bibliography and anything else (indication of when to take the exam)
  6. .
  7. after successfully completing the bridging career, the student notifies prof. Arecco by e-mail with an attached pdf file, who proceeds to unblock enrolment and the student then accesses the Master's degree by completing enrolment
  8. .

Prof. Arecco's task is only to verify the requirements and prepare any bridging careers, and it is not his responsibility to check times, deadlines, fees, any more etc.

Within 15 days from the completion of enrolment, if possible immediately afterwards, the student can apply online for the recognition of any previous Master's degree (only if, in addition to the three-year degree of origin, he/she already holds another Master's degree), uploading his/her previous career (in this case, previous Master's degrees or old four-year degrees are taken into account); the contact person for the recognition of credits from previous careers is Prof. Emiliano Beri.

IMPORTANT: it is advisable for students to attend the interviews for the LM in Historical Sciences only AFTER graduating from the three-year degree course, NOT before (any prior interviews can only cause confusion).
