AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The object of the course consists in providing the implements for a technical and environmental assessment of the energy systems taking into account their innovation and sustainability: energy management, distributed generation, wind energy, hydraulic energy, energy storage systems, energy from biomass.

TEACHING METHODS

The course is formed by a succession of theoretical lessons, where the above main subjects are developed, and some exercises about direct and inverse calculations concerning the subjects of lessons.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The subjects are:

  • The present energy scenarios and the perspectives of the innovative systems in the short and medium period on the ground of technical and economic considerations The energy management  and the market: distributed generation, cogeneration, renewable energies.
  • Innovative cycles and CO2 sequestration in order to enhance the sustainability of fossil fuels. Tools for energy systems analysis: applications to production and induced pollution.
  • Energy from renewable sources (biomass, waves)
  • Thermo economic analisys of innovative systems
