AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course will furnish students with basic notions of Russian linguistics, a solid foundation in grammar, and active knowledge of Russian vocabulary and syntax. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The first phase in the acquisition of Russian: introduction to phonology, morphology (declination and conjugation), simple syntax, and vocabulary appropriate to the elementary level. TEACHING METHODS Classroom lectures with the possible support of Aulaweb and/or Facebook. Student participation is highly encouraged. Attendance is essential for a decent grade. Students of "Russian as a Third Language" are not specifically required to attend the Modulo Teorico (although it would be a *very* good idea to do so anyway). For the “Lettorato”, the students will be divided into two distinct groups. The division is made on the basis of the other languages studied in order to minimize scheduling conflicts. The groups will be examined and revised in the second week of the semester. Tables explaining the division and adjustments to it will be made available to the students (together with other materials for this class) in the Russian I folder (Lingue > Dickinson > Documents > Lingua russa I 2016/17). SYLLABUS/CONTENT The course will focus on the development of both active and passive abilities in Russian. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY Materials for the Modulo Teorico will be made available in the course folder (Lingue > Dickinson > Documents > Lingua russa I 2016/17). The nature and whereabouts of materials for the Lettorato will be announced at the beginning of the course.
