This course is aimed at offering students a complete framework on the organization, conservation and collection of archives as well as developing the equipment needed to insure its continued use.
6 cfu course program: The General Archiving course is meant to allow students to get their bearings around the means of management, conservation and collection of complex documents produced by public or private figures with a special focus on the organization and sedimentation of documents from the Middle Ages to modern times.
9 cfu course program: The General Archiving course is meant to allow students to get their bearings around the means of management, conservation and collection of complex documents produced by public or private figures with a special focus on the organization and sedimentation of documents from the Middle Ages to modern times. Part of the course will be dedicated to illustrating the main consequences of the growing use of digital technologies applied to archives.
Students’ mastery of the educational objectives of the course will be evaluated through an oral exam. During the course, attending students and the instructor may also engage in dialog mainly for self-assessment.
