OVERVIEW

The course is divided into three modules; the first module is dedicated to the elements that underlie the interprise economy; the second module covers the organizational and management characteristics of gour operators, retailers and travel companies of aggregative events; the third module esamines the hotel receptive businesses, non-hotel accomodation and cruise companies, considered in their specificity and types, as well as in their organizational and management aspects.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The teaching is divided into three modules: the first is dedicated to the basics of business economics; the second concerns the organizational and management characteristics of tour operators and aggregation events; the third module examines the retail travel companies, the hotel accommodation businesses, the non-hotel and cruise accommodation facilities, considered in the specific aspects and in their organizational and management aspects.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. Knowledge and understanding

Students must adequate knowledge and ability to effectively understanding of the organizational and managerial characteristics of the company in general, travel companies (tour operators and retailers), the hotel receptive businesses, non-hotel vusinesses and aggregation events, with particular regard to the conressional events.

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding

Students must be able to apply the knowledge gained by identifying and interpreting the typical management made, particularly with to their impact on corporate wealth understood in terms of assets and income.

3. Making judgments

Students must know how to use both at the conceptual level and at the operational knowledge gained self-evaluation skills in different applications contexts.

4. communications skills

Students must acquire the typical discipline technical language to communicate clearly and unambiguously with both specialista and non-specialist.

5. Learning skills

Students need to develop appropriate learning skills to allow them to continue to independently investigate major issues of discipline especially in the workplace in which will operate.

 

 

 

PREREQUISITES

General knowledge at secondary school level.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching will be held with lectures.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

I Module:

The economic system and its operators. The company and its types. The organization of human resources. The ordinary and extraordinary management of a company. Feasibility study surveys of the company. The phase of operation and its effects on the qualitative and quantitative structure of wealth patrimonial and income. The forms of termination (absolute and relative) of the company.

Module II:

The tourism system: aggregates of actors and their relationships. The connotations of the individual aggregates of economic operators within the tourism system. The tourist market and its components. Tour Operators: organizational, management and control aspects. The aggregation and congress events in particular: organization, management and control.

III Module:

Travel companies retailers: organization, management and control. Hotel and non-hotel accommodation businesses: organization, management and control. Cruise companies: organization, management and control.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The determination of the degree of knowledge and practical skills acquired will be done through written tests each consisteing of open-ended question and a question aimed at the verification of operational skills.
