The course is focused on the scientific foundations of General Pedagogy, understood as science of self-formation, education and cultural instruction of the human being
The course has, as main purposes, the acquisition of foundational knowledge related to General Pedagogy and the understanding of its objects of study.
The acquisition of appropriate knowledges and abilities in the process of comprehension regarding the scientific foundations of Pedagogy General and its objects of study is revolved to improve the skills to understand, interpret and deal with the problems associated with the self-formation, education and cultural instruction of the human being, during the life, from early childhood to senility.
Lectures are conducted in presence of the Professor and they are, predominantly, frontal. Within the course, group activities and seminars can be provided.
The program of the course will consist, mainly, in the following contents: self-formation, education and cultural instruction as objects of study of General Pedagogy; the questions of logic, language and method in Pedagogy; the Pedagogical Sciences, the Educational Sciences and the Formation Sciences; inter-disciplinarity, intra-disciplinarity and trans-disciplinarity in Pedagogy.

Ricevimento: The Professor receives students weekly, at the Pedagogical Study (3C7 room, third floor). The reception times are available within the "Avvisi dai docenti" section of the "Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione" website and on AULAWEB platform. Students can contact the Professor going to the reception or, if necessary, telephoning during the receiving students time (Study of Pedagogy, phone: 010-20953820). Student reception of Prof. Mario Gennari in the first semester (during the lessons period) is – normally and unless otherwise information indicated in the section "Avvisi dai docenti" on the “Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione” website – of Sciences of the Training - Wednesday at 13.00, at the Studio Room DISFOR 3C7. In every other period, the dates and timetables for the reception are set weekly and are reported within the section "Avvisi dai docenti" on the “Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione” website and on AULAWEB platform.

GENERAL PEDAGOGY I
It is written.
The written exam is finalized to verify the acquired knowledge by the students and their critical capabilities in the elaboration of the learned contents. In order to this, the exam, lasting 45 minutes, is structured into a small number of open questions. During the time of the exam, students can consult the texts in the program. Students have to attend the exam with the program of the current academic year, even if they are enrolled in previous academic years. If the exam is “not passed”, the students will have to attend the exam again in the same manner. For non-attending students, the exam procedures are the same.
Any change in the usual teaching activities (classes and office hours) will be reported within the “Avvisi dai Docenti” section of the "Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione" internet site. OTHER INFORMATION Also in the academic year 2019-2020, “The Seminar of General Pedagogy” will continue to be done.
