It provides the students with the basic skills needed to study and critically analyze the political and social issues at the very core of the whole study course. It participates in the Project of the University of Genova on Innovative Teaching. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course provides the knowledge of the way in which sociology interprets and analyzes the `` living in society '' of different individuals, groups, cultures, in the context of traditional and contemporary societies, presenting the most recent developments of sociological theory and research. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Aim of the teaching is to provide the students with sociological tools useful to analyse and understand contemporary societies, relying on the theoretical and empirical contributions of classic and modern authors. PREREQUISITES Even if it is a course of sociology, some basic knowledge of modern and contemporary history is required. TEACHING METHODS Frontal teaching, in attendance. In order to support and integrate textbooks, the teacher will upload teaching materials on Aulaweb, sending also links to videos related to the topics discussed.
