The goal of this course is to introduce students to notable moments in the cultural and literary history of Hispano-American countries such as the Spanish conquest, the colonial period and independence
By the end of the course, students will have developed enough knowledge of cultural history from the period of the conquest to engage in critical reading

The course will analyze the philosophical-cultural premises and consequences related to the discovery/conquest of America both from the perspective of the conquistadors and of the conquered
