Know and be able to apply the techniques and methodologies of data collection, their organization, processing and representation (descriptive statistics), as well as notes on probabilistic and inferential statistics, and critical ability to evaluate these methodologies in documents of external origin (tables, graphs, reports ).
it is delivered through online courses on Aulaweb: the link to the online course is present on the homepage of the integrated course.
Statistical character of the observations. Unit of measurement and order of magnitude. Accuracy and rounding. Data transformation. Absolute, relative, percentage frequencies. Collection, organization and representation of data. Data synthesis: central tendency indices (analytical and position averages, quantiles) and dispersion indices. Notes on probability calculus: conditional probabilities and independence criterion, sum and product principles. Probability distributions: Gaussian distribution. General aspects of statistical inference: population and sample. Main sampling techniques. Randomization. Confidence intervals of means and percentages. Statistical evaluations in the classification of a diagnostic test.
