AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, the student:

  • will be able to distinguish the main psychological perspectives and their historical contribution
  • will be able to internalize the key concepts of specific areas in psychology
  • will be familiar with the application areas of psychology
  • will be acquainted with the methodological foundations of psychological research

TEACHING METHODS

The course is based on frontal lessons, the teacher will provide informative materials to support individual learning.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The course is divided in two main modules:

1. The profile of a psychologist

  • Historical facts in psychology
  • Main application areas
  • Practical examples

2. Basic foundations of general psychology

  • Psychological functions (eg. personality, motivation, communication)
  • Practical implications (eg. how personality influences the coiche of a partner in love)
  • Key concepts

Prof. Traverso will confirm to the instructor that you are entitled to request accommodations. The instructor will then reply, confirming whether the requested accommodations can be granted.

⚠️ Important: Late requests may not allow sufficient time to implement necessary changes (e.g., concept maps must be concise and suitable for the exam). If not submitted on time, adjustments may not be possible.
