The Applied Medical Sciences module offers an in-depth study of the "Quality Management System", specifically provides management tools for organizational systems and suggests a method of approach that has "learning from mistakes" as its driving force. This supports "Cytofluorimetry", a methodology that arises from scientific research, but is increasingly used also in diagnostics for the phenotyping of single cells of various kinds. The Chromatography module proposes the study of the fundamental principles of the technique and of the detection systems. The attention is focused on Mass Spectrometry, Gas Chromatography, techniques widely used in work activities. The basic principles provided will facilitate the internships by introducing the student to the working world. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Quality management systems in healthcare services and in the laboratory The UNI EN ISO standards, reference standards Clinical risk, error management Chromatographic techniques and principles of mass spectrometry.
