    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The aim of the course is to present students with the basic elements of linear algebra, and of the affine and Euclidean geometry. These arguments are part of the foundations of modern mathematics and will be used in all subsequent courses. A not secondary objective is also to show students a theory that is strongly motivated by concrete problems and can be dealt with in a comprehensive and rigorous manner.

    Traditional theorical lectures (96 hours) and  exercises sections (60 hours)

    "1. Analytical Geometry in R ^ 2 and R ^ 3
    2. Matrices
    3. Linear systems
    4. Vector Spaces and subspace.
    5. Linear maps and  matrices.
    6. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalizable homomorphisms and matrices.
    7. Scalar product, Euclidean vector spaces.
    8. Diagonalization of real symmetric matrices and complex Hermitian matrices.
    9. Conics and quadrics.
    10. Projective spaces"
