OVERVIEW

The Course of General Pathology and Internal Medicine deals with how and why health disturbances occur and includes the study of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the disease; of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases, in particular of pathological processes that simultaneously involve multiple systems. Provides knowledge of obstetric interest in the field of Clinical Microbiology and Pathological Anatomy.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Know the main etiopathogenetic aspects of diseases. Know the main hereditary and congenital diseases. Know the morphological and functional characteristics of neoplastic cells. Know the main causes of cell damage. Know the stages of inflammation, the main acute and chronic inflammations, the immune system. Know the fundamentals of microbiology and microbial structures.

PREREQUISITES

The student must present knowledge, skills and competences in biology, anatomy and physiology in order to be able to comprehensively understand the subject

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The end-of-course exam aims to evaluate the achievement of the didactic objectives of the I.C. The exams take place on the dates indicated in the calendar. The assessment is oral or written, conducted collegially by the teachers of each course. The grade is assigned as the weighted average, weighted on the credits, of the assessments on the individual courses.

In case of changes in the sanitary and epidemiological situation, the exams will be carried out remotely (TEAMS).

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Verification of learning takes place only through the final exam which aims to verify the actual acquisition, by the student, of the expected learning outcomes.

The following contribute to the final mark expressed out of thirty:

- Ability to deal with the requested topics in a transversal and critical manner;

- Correctness, clarity, synthesis and fluidity of presentation;

- Mastery of the subject;

- Adoption of appropriate terminology

The mark of 30/30 with possible honors will be awarded when the knowledge / skills of the subject are excellent.
