AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims at the students' acquisition of the basic morphosyntactic structures of the Spanish language and of the lexicon ̶ above all of an economic-commercial nature ̶ also necessary to understand texts on topical issues relating, in particular, to the field of specialization, in order to initiate a written and oral production in keeping with a B1 level communicative competence. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student will be able to understand frequently used phrases and expressions related to the daily sphere or to work contexts, to produce short and coherent texts and to speak in a simple way about his personal experiences and his plans as well as interacting in communicative situations inherent to the specialty field. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the skills acquired will allow the further development of receptive and productive communication skills and the fundamental vocabulary to express oneself both in the usual situations of daily life and in those relating to the professional sphere. Autonomy of judgment: the skills learned will allow both at a conceptual and practical level to evaluate independently and effectively and to arrive at coherent choices in different situations. Communication skills: the acquired specialty language will allow you to communicate with both specialist and non-expert interlocutors. Learning skills: the skills acquired (level B1) will allow you to autonomously continue to deepen the topics and contents learned for the purpose of using them in the world of work. PREREQUISITES The course is intended for both beginners, who will have the opportunity to start from scratch, and non-beginners. No special prerequisites are therefore required. In aulaweb, however, appropriate tools will be made available to students, especially beginners, to further facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and basic skills useful for facing the teaching contents even more easily, as well as the possibility of practicing independently (interactive exercises with solutions). TEACHING METHODS Both face-to-face and interactive lessons, with exercises and creation of working groups. SYLLABUS/CONTENT 1) LETTORATO a) Grammatical contents: • Pronunciation and spelling of sounds. • The accents. • Number and gender of nouns and adjectives. • The definite and indefinite article. • Indicative times (regular and irregular): morphology and syntax. • Ser / estar, haber / tener: uses and contrastive analysis. • The numerals. • Demonstrative, possessive and indefinite pronouns and adjectives. • The degrees of the qualifying adjective. • Contrastive use of past tenses. • Personal pronouns with complement function. • The Imperative (affirmative and negative). • The prepositions. • The subjunctive. • The present conditional. b) Communication functions and daily vocabulary. • Greet and introduce yourself in a formal and informal way. • Spanish-speaking countries and nationalities. • The family. • The House. • The office. • Trades and professions. • Physical description, character, profession, work environment, home and objects. • Asking and giving personal or professional information (study or work). • Express and ask about food and leisure preferences. • Clothing • Ask / give directions to shops, hotels and restaurants. 2) COMMERCIAL COURSE a) CULTURE Spanish in the world: diffusion and economic-cultural importance. • Latin America and Spain: language (hints of sociolinguistics) and civilization. Socio-political aspects. b) COMPANY The business world in Spanish-speaking countries. • Import / Export: trade treaties (NAFTA / T-MEC and MERCOSUR). • Mercosur and EU trade agreements. • Business marketing. • Spanish as a language of specialty (job interview; drafting simple e-mails; cover letters, with CVs; job requests and offers; requesting / giving information about a company and the duties and tasks performed; presentation and promotion of a commercial product, with the creation of advertising slogans). • Topical topics of a socio-economic and political-cultural nature will be examined in order to specifically strengthen the communicative skills of the level (both written and oral), within the specialty field, as well as allow the recognition of some linguistic varieties of Spanish through the examination of different types of texts.
