    OVERVIEW

The class provides essential mathematical tools to address next university classes.

    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main aim of the course is to provide students with the basic mathematical tools used in other topics studied in the Department of Economics and Business. Contents: - sets, sets of numbers, the concept of function. - Real functions of a real variable: limits, continuity, derivatives and differentials, the study of functions. Real functions of more variables: introduction. - Indefinite integral, definite integral, improper integrals. - Linear algebra: vectors, matrices, linear systems.

    AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Topics are addressed starting from the basics for students from any secondary school . The approach is aimed at encouraging learning.

    TEACHING METHODS

The class is taught through traditional lectures and exercises.

The class material is available on aulaweb.

Students who have valid certification of physical or learning disabilities  and who wish to discuss possible accommodations or other circumstances regarding lectures, coursework and exams, should speak both with the instructor and with Professor Serena Scotto (scotto@economia.unige.it), the Department’s disability liaison.

    SYLLABUS/CONTENT
